At the Noord-Holland police unit I set up data-driven working in a team that didn't have it yet. I mapped the data sources, built pipelines in Python and SQL, designed the data models and delivered the reports that detectives and managers now steer by. All of that happens under strict privacy and information-security requirements, with data where a wrong conclusion has real consequences.
Before that I was a data engineer at the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR), working on COMPASS, an EU project on digital product passports. I led requirements engineering with partners across Europe, made the architecture decisions for the data platform and built the MVP in an international Agile team. My degree in Business Data Management laid the groundwork: data modeling, data warehousing and BI.
Alongside that work I spent four years creating Udemy courses on Python, SQL and full-stack development. Explaining complex technology to people without a technical background is the entire job there — and it's also what a data engineer on a team does most of the day. The same curiosity led me to AI: RAG, agents and retrieval evaluation, worked out in the projects on this site. I'm now looking for a team where I can build that data foundation and the AI layer on top of it, together.

Noord-Holland Police
Set up data-driven working from scratch: inventoried data sources, assessed their quality and translated the needs of operations, tactics and management into a concrete plan.
Built ETL pipelines in Python and SQL, dimensional data models and Power BI reports for operational and strategic decision-making.
Developed automated tooling that replaces manual analysis work, including for financial and cryptocurrency investigations.
Put governance in place — data quality, classification, documentation — and gave training to raise data literacy in the team.
